Lantaw's SRP branch reopened inside the Il Corso lifestyle compound after Typhoon Odette — same kitchen, larger pavilion, the Cebu-Cordova bridge now the centerpiece of the sunset view.
The Lantaw name has been on the Cebu seafood-and-native map since the original Cordova location opened on the Mactan side of the channel. Lantaw Il Corso is the South Road Properties relocation of the SRP outpost — the same kitchen, the same sutukil-format menu, the same shareable Cebuano-Filipino plates — moved inside the Il Corso lifestyle compound after the 2021 Typhoon Odette displacement. The room is now larger: a two-storey al-fresco pavilion with capacity for two hundred, the upper deck holding the unbroken view across the channel toward Mactan.
The view does the heavy lifting. Lantaw Il Corso looks directly onto the new Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway — the CCLEX, Cebu's longest bridge — which arcs across the channel and lights up at dusk. The original Cordova-side Lantaw faces the same water from the opposite shore; the SRP branch is the Cebu City-side mirror, with the bridge skyline crossing the foreground and Mactan reading as a long horizontal smudge of light beyond. The pavilion is open on three sides; the breeze off the water is the air-conditioning.
The menu is the Cebuano sutukil canon — sugba (grill), tola (soup), kilaw (ceviche) — supplemented by the Lantaw best-sellers that the regulars come back for: crispy pata, tuna panga, crispy kare-kare, buttered shrimp, baked scallops. Prices land between ₱200 and ₱400 per plate, sized for sharing. A four-plate visit for two people lands at around ₱1,400 with rice and calamansi soda. The kitchen does not chase Manila pricing; the SRP customer is the Cebuano family, the Cebu day-trip group, and the visitor who came for the sunset and stayed for the kinilaw.

Lantaw Il Corso reopened in the Il Corso lifestyle compound on the SRP waterfront after the original SRP branch was displaced by Typhoon Odette in late 2021. The relocation expanded the format: two storeys, open-air on three sides, capacity for two hundred, and a sightline that the original location did not have — the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway, which was completed in 2022 and now defines the SRP-side panorama. The menu is the same Lantaw program: Cebuano sutukil (sugba, tola, kilaw), native-style grilled fish, the family best-sellers (crispy pata, tuna panga, crispy kare-kare, buttered shrimp, baked scallops). Prices remain accessible for a destination-view restaurant; the family-sharing format is unchanged. The Il Corso compound also hosts the SRP food yard with a half-dozen casual concepts, but Lantaw is the anchor — the sit-down room with the view that justifies the drive from the city.

Il Corso is on the SRP North Parking strip — about 25 minutes by Grab from Cebu IT Park, 20 minutes from SM Seaside, and 35 minutes from Mactan-Cebu Airport. The compound is a lifestyle development with a food yard, an open square, and Lantaw at the waterfront end. Parking is on-site and free; the pavilion is well-signed.
Time the visit for the sunset. The CCLEX skyline lights up around 6 p.m. and the bridge profile holds against the channel until 7. Arrive 5:30 to claim the upper deck while there is still daylight; the staff seat walk-ins on the upper level first when it is available. The kitchen runs from 10 a.m., but the lunch service is the quieter window — most diners come for the dinner-and-view pairing.
Best evenings: Tuesday – Thursday for upper-deck access. Saturday is the family-rush night and the pavilion fills by 6 p.m. Sunday lunches are the brighter daytime visit if the bridge view is not the priority. The kitchen runs both lunch and dinner without break.
Order strategy: one kinilaw to open (the tuna or the tanigue, both clean), one baked scallops or buttered shrimp for the table, one grilled fish or tuna panga as the centerpiece, and a kilo of rice. Add a vegetable side — lato salad is the Cebuano default — and one pitcher of iced tea for four diners. A four-plate order for two lands at around ₱1,400; a family-of-six order lands at ~₱3,500.
Pair Lantaw Il Corso with the SRP loop. The Il Corso boardwalk runs the length of the compound and is the post-dinner walk; the SM Seaside complex (10 minutes north) is the dessert-and-cinema option; the 10,000 Roses Cafe in Cordova (35 minutes across the CCLEX) is the cross-channel sister-Lantaw evening. The standard Cebu sunset dinner is Lantaw Il Corso first, then the bridge crossing to Cordova for coffee — and the bridge is itself the view you have been eating in front of.
What to know: the pavilion is open-air; bring a light layer in rainy season (June – October) when the channel breeze picks up. The upper deck has the unobstructed view; the lower floor is shaded and quieter. Children welcome; the family tables on the upper deck are the obvious fit. Service charge included.
